Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. Is Cross Mission Christian School a so-called “approved school”?

A. Cross Mission Christian School is not an accredited school as defined by the School Education Law.Nevertheless, we proudly maintain membership within the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), the foremost global accrediting organization for Christian education, encompassing more than one million students across 101 nations. Our dedication lies in fostering a nurturing academic setting and offering prospective career pathways through our expansive network of devoted Christian individuals both domestically and internationally.

Q. What is the difference between Cross Mission Christian School’s curriculum and public schools?

A. Our school is based on Christian values, and our curriculum is based on the ACSI of the United States, and we teach mainly in English and Japanese.

This is a major difference from the general public school curriculum.

In addition, Our school will be the same as public schools in that, in principle, we use a “full-day (5-day weekday schooling system)” format.

At present, we are not able to offer a curriculum in which students attend school only one or two days per week.

Q. Do I need to be proficient in English to enter the school?

A.No English proficiency is required for admission. It does not matter if the language of instruction in your home is not English.

Because of the nature of an international school, a higher percentage of classes are taught in English than in most public schools.

However, classes are not completely in English, and Japanese and mathematics are taught in Japanese.

If you have any concerns about your English ability or other issues, please feel free to contact us.

Q. Is Cross Mission Christian School open to non-Christians?
