Welcome to Tsukuba Love of Christ Church
Welcome to the website of Tsukuba Love of Christ Church. We pray that God’s blessing will be upon everyone who visits this page.
Many people today carry deep hurts, burdens, and weariness in their hearts. Life can become overwhelming, and at times we may wonder what our purpose is or where true peace can be found.
That is why we seek to be a church centered on Jesus Christ, our true Savior—a place where everyone can experience God’s peace, hope, healing, and joy.
Here you will find genuine friendships and a loving church family. Above all, we pray that you will come to know God personally. Whether you have been a Christian for many years or are simply curious about faith, you are warmly welcome to visit us.
“Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28

About Tsukuba Love of Christ Church

For nearly twenty years, our church has served the city of Tsukuba—a community where researchers, university students, families, and people from many nations live and work together. Today, people of all ages and backgrounds worship together as one church family. We would like to introduce seven ways God’s love is transforming lives in our community.
①A Church Where Everyone Can Find the Joy of Knowing God
Life is shaped by the people we meet.
Our parents who cared for us from childhood, friends who listen to us, and loved ones who walk through life with us—all of these relationships shape who we become.
Yet there is one relationship that reaches deeper than all the others: a personal relationship with God, revealed through the Bible. As we come to know Him, we discover true meaning, purpose, and hope for our lives.
②A Church Where Students & Young Adults Discover Purpose
The years of studying and beginning a career are exciting, but they can also bring many questions.
Many young people quietly ask themselves, “Why am I here? What is God’s purpose for my life?”
Here, young adults grow together through faith, friendship, and encouragement. As they walk with Jesus Christ, many discover new confidence, purpose, and direction for the future.
③A Church Where Families Experience Healing and Hope
Every family faces challenges. Misunderstandings, loneliness, stress, and unspoken burdens are part of life.
As we experience the love of Jesus Christ, broken relationships can begin to heal. We believe the church is a place where families find renewed hope, encouragement, and restoration.
④A Church Where Children Grow in God’s Love
Children are surrounded by caring adults who encourage and support them.
On Sundays, they learn Bible stories through Cross Mission Sunday School. During the week, many children also attend Cross Mission Kindergarten or Cross Mission Christian School, where they learn in an international Christian environment. Throughout the year, they enjoy camps, celebrations, and many special events.
More important than academic achievement is knowing that they are deeply loved by God. Children who experience God’s love naturally learn to share that love with others.
⑤A Church Where People from Many Nations Become One Family
Each Sunday, people from many countries worship together as one family in Christ.
Interpretation is available in Japanese, English, Korean, Chinese, and other languages when needed. Though our languages and cultures may differ, we worship the same Lord together.
⑥A Church Where Seniors Live with Hope
Many older members of our church have found lasting peace through the promises of God’s Word.
They worship alongside younger generations, building friendships across every age group. Their lives reflect the joy and hope that come from walking with Christ.
⑦A Church with the Vision of Cross Mission
Our church is built around a biblical vision we call Cross Mission.
In this vision, the vertical beam of the cross represents passing faith from one generation to the next, while the horizontal beam represents sharing God’s love from Japan to the nations.
We pray that God’s work, which began here in Tsukuba, will continue to bless future generations and reach people throughout the world.
