Sunday School (Children’s Ministry)
Looking for a safe and welcoming place where your child can grow, make friends, and learn about God?
At Tsukuba Love of Christ Church,Children from preschool through elementary school are welcome to join us every Sunday morning.
Children enjoy singing worship songs, listening to Bible stories, praying together, making crafts, and spending time with friends in a joyful Christian environment. We pray that every child will discover that they are deeply loved by God.
If this is your child’s first visit, there’s no need to worry. Every child adjusts at their own pace. Some children enjoy joining right away, while others prefer to watch quietly at first. Parents are welcome to stay with their child for as long as needed, and our volunteers are always happy to help children feel comfortable.

Many churches call this ministry Sunday School or Church School (CS). At our church, it is known as Cross Mission Sunday School, and many children affectionately call it the “Little Lamb Class.”
What We Want Every Child to Know
More than anything else, we want every child to know this simple truth:
“You are deeply loved by God.”
Children today often grow up surrounded by expectations, competition, and pressure. At Sunday School, we want them to know that their value does not come from grades, achievements, or talents, but from being created and loved by God.
As children learn from the Bible, they gradually develop qualities that will guide them throughout life:
- Confidence that they are valuable and loved
- Kindness and compassion toward others
- Learning to turn to God in prayer in every season of life
Many parents hope their children will become confident, kind, and able to communicate well with others. We share those hopes. At the same time, we believe the greatest gift we can offer is an opportunity for children to experience God’s love.
Families from every background are welcome. Parents are never expected to share our faith in order for their children to participate. We simply hope your family will feel at home here.

What Happens at Sunday School?
Sunday School begins with a joyful time of worship. Children sing songs, listen to an age-appropriate Bible message, read Scripture together, and sometimes enjoy simple worship dances. Throughout the year, they also take part in Bible memory activities, games, quizzes, crafts, picture-story lessons, and seasonal celebrations.
Every week offers new opportunities for children to learn about God while having fun with friends in a warm and encouraging environment.
One of the unique features of our church is its international community. Many families in our congregation come from different countries, so children naturally hear English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese as they spend time together. In the afternoon, we also offer English and Korean language classes. Through these everyday friendships, children learn to appreciate different cultures and discover the joy of connecting with people from around the world.
When the weather is nice, the children often head to a nearby park where they can run, play, and enjoy God’s creation together. Learning, worship, friendship, and play are all important parts of growing up at our church.
In the past, our church also operated a Saturday children’s program called CM Club. Building on that ministry, we later established Cross Mission Christian School (CMCS), an international Christian school serving students from elementary through junior high school. Families interested in Christian education during the week are warmly invited to learn more about the school.
More Than Sunday School—A Place to Play and Belong
After Sunday School, many children continue playing together in our second-floor fellowship hall. We also have a rooftop trampoline where children can safely enjoy active play.
It’s not unusual to hear children say, “I don’t want to go home yet!” That brings us great joy. We want our church to be more than just a place to learn Bible stories—it is a place where children build lasting friendships, laugh together, and experience the love of God in everyday life.
We’d love for your family to come and experience it together. (Please note that the trampoline may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance.)
