【November 2023】 We went on a tour of the Kewpie factory (Goka)!

Factory tour with children in Goka Town, Ibaraki Prefecture

Hallelujah 🌤️ It’s Tsukuba CMCS! This week was another wonderful experience.

This week, I visited the “Kewpie Corporation Goka Factory,” a very famous factory tour spot in Ibaraki Prefecture.

Speaking of Kewpie, it’s the company that makes the mayonnaise and dressings that we use every day on our dinner tables, and the Goka Factory is said to be the largest Kewpie factory in Japan. Not only is it large, but the factory also uses a lot of the latest technology, and I was amazed at how advanced it is!

I learned a lot about the process of making mayonnaise, the ingredients used, and how they maintain stable quality. In particular, seeing first-hand how high Kewpie’s quality standards are and the ingenuity they put into their products gave me an opportunity to think deeply about the products I eat every day.

Of course, the children had plenty of fun things to do in addition to the factory tour!

Inside the factory, there was a “face-in panel” where everyone could play, try on Kewpie uniforms, and take commemorative photos with Kewpie dolls, all of which were fun times.

I hope that these experiences will spark the children’s interest in how their food and the products around them are made.

I look forward to seeing the cutting-edge technology being developed in Goka Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, continue to develop in the hands of young people who will lead the next generation.

I give all the glory to God! Amen.
